Ceiling Fan and Light Kit Command Options
There are several ways to control ceiling fans and light kits.
- One wire/switch -
to turn power on/off to the fan (and lights) at the same time - 2 wire/switches -
1 switch turns ability on/off to the fan, the other to the lights - Pull bondage -
to adjust fan speed and lights - Remote command -
available on new or existing fans to arrange fan speed and lights - Wall command -
to adjust fan speed and lights, wall controls are available for either one or two wire/switch configurations
One Wire vs 2 Wire Switch Wall Control
A 1 wire configuration uses 1 switch and 1 line wire to control power to a fan (and lights).
A two wire configuration uses 2 switches and two line wires each to control ability to a fan and lights.
